MRMW 2011

About the conference:

The 2nd International conference on Market Research in the Mobile World (Official hashtag #MRMW11) was held on July 19 & 20 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The conference brought together more than 175 top insight executives, market researchers and mobile developers to discuss the challenges and opportunities of leveraging cutting-edge mobile technologies for generating actionable customer insights.

 

This senior-level, forward looking event were organised in partnership with The Greenbook Media Platform and is supported by the Center for Business Innovation and Creativity at Kennesaw State University.

 

Conference format:

The core focus of the conference was on how mobile technologies, social media, and the "app revolution" can be used for research, marketing, brand engagement, and insight generation. The structure of the conference format was based on 4 modules, with interactive work sessions to define major activation goals after each module. Each module consisted of 6-8 presentations related to the general theme. The modules were consisted of

The State of the Mobile Research Landscape: Current Uses and Learnings - All presentations will focus on case studies and current defined best practices for effective use of mobile and social media channels for research and brand engagement.

What’s Next in Mobile MR: What Trends Will Impact Us All Over the Next 12-24 Months? - Thought leaders and innovators will share their experience to craft a vision of what changes we'll see over the next 2 years within the mobile and social space and share ideas on how researchers and brands can prepare for them.

Strategic Foresight: Looking Ahead 5 Years, Will We Recognize the Market Research Industry? - The pace of technological change and its impact on human culture is accelerating; what does this mean to marketers and researchers? How does the insight function need to change in order to order to remain relevant within the new paradigm? Global leaders will share their thoughts and arm participants with creative ideas on how to capitalize on these changes.

Ethics, Best Practices, & ISOs (Oh My!): Pitfalls, Opportunities, and Changing the MR Paradigm - What are the implications of emerging mobile and social technologies on privacy, ethics, accepted best practices and quality standards? What are the implications for current business models? Some of the most respected thinkers in the industry share their insights.
